About the WELU

The WELU is a creative publication that is curated, edited, and published by members of Land Air Water. The mission of the WELU is to generate a platform for artistic expression and commentary on contemporary environmental and social issues, with an emphasis on environmental justice.

The WELU encompasses a variety of tones — from academic to conversational. The primary goal of the WELU is to provide space for aspiring illustrators, poets, journalists, photographers, scientists, storytellers, students, community members, and the like to give their vital perspectives on topics relevant to PIELC.

With this goal in mind, we welcome pieces that capture what it is like to live in today’s environmental and social paradigm. The WELU is a way to amplify voices and talent from a diverse range of backgrounds and encourage an ongoing dialogue about these important subjects. This would be impossible without our contributors, and we hope you will consider sharing your thoughts and experiences in any way that feels right to you.
