WELU, formerly known as the “Western Environmental Law Update,” is the annual zine that is affiliated with PIELC and curated, edited, and published by members of the University of Oregon’s Land, Air, Water student organization. The mission of WELU is to generate a platform for people to share their thoughts surrounding current environmental issues. WELU encompasses a variety of tones — from academic to conversational. Most importantly, we want to explore topics of lived and wilderness spaces from a diverse range of backgrounds. This would be impossible without our contributors.
We release a new edition of WELU every spring, shortly after PIELC comes to a close. For this zine, we accept articles, stories, poetry, essays, illustrations, and photographs on a rolling basis. Works should not exceed 5 pages in single-spaced 12 point font.
