Tom Housel grew up in the farmlands of rural Ohio but has called Oregon home since 2014. From an early age, he recognized and appreciated the import connection between the land and his local community. He developed an appreciation for the aesthetic beauty of our country’s nature and wildlife while visiting national parks throughout the United States as a child and young adult. After a brief, unfulfilling career in the world of sales, someone told Tom, “if you care so much, why don’t you do something about it?” Within a couple of months, he realized that he wanted to address climate change policy in some manner and, shortly thereafter, enrolled in law school at the University of Oregon. Tom is a second-year law student at the university and currently working with a local non-profit fighting to change our country’s current climate change policy.
