Dan Lawler grew up in Oak Hill, Virginia, just west of Washington, D.C., but discovered his passion for the natural environment while studying at Virginia Tech. At Tech, he earned a B.S. in Environmental Policy and Planning, performed research for the Agricultural and Applied Economics Department, and developed a deep appreciation for the role that clean land, air, and water plays in human and ecosystem health. Last summer, Dan clerked for a non-profit environmental law center that fights for citizens’ rights to a healthy natural environment and he hopes to continue supporting community and ecosystem health in the future through a career in public interest environmental law. In his free time, Dan loves to mountain bike and hike.
